Learn partner dancing in Saarbrücken

Partner dancing means two people, one shared impulse, and no counted-out choreography. We teach it through Bachata — one of the most accessible partner dances there is, because the basic step takes an hour to learn and everything after that runs on connection rather than sequences.

As a couple or on your own

Both work. If you come as a couple you can dance the whole hour together. If you come alone we rotate — you dance with everyone in the room, which teaches you to lead or follow with different people. Both are fine; nobody is forced to switch.

Leading and following — what it is really about

Leading is not pushing and following is not guessing. We teach both as technique: body tension, weight transfer, clear impulses and the ability to read them. Once that clicks you can dance with anyone who speaks the same language — at any party, in any city.

Unlike classic ballroom or Latin, there is no competition track and no exams here. The goal is the social dance floor: an evening where you dance whatever you feel like.

How to start

The Basic Flow beginner class runs Mondays from 19:00 to 20:00 at Tanzstudio Fortuna Lounge. No experience and no dance shoes needed — comfortable clothes and clean indoor shoes are enough. €45 per month per person, €39 for students.

Frequently asked questions

Can we dance together as a couple?
Yes, for the whole hour. You do not have to rotate if you prefer not to.
I am coming alone — does that work?
Yes, that is the normal case. We change partners during class so nobody sits out.
Is Bachata harder than ballroom?
Different rather than harder. The basic step is simpler, but the focus shifts sooner to body movement and connection instead of fixed figure sequences.
Do you teach wedding couples?
The group class does not prepare a wedding dance, but you are welcome to ask us about private lessons.
